Trello

Connect Trello and your cards, boards, and due dates come to Discord.

At a glance

Team Toolbox connects Trello to Discord so card and board links unfurl into previews, you can create cards from chat, and get a heads-up before your cards are due. Your server admin can also pipe a board's activity into a channel.

All Users

Connect Trello

Connecting links your own Trello account, so previews and card creation use the boards you can already see. Run /trello connect once in any channel where Team Toolbox is present and follow the authorization link to approve access, or connect and disconnect your Trello account from your User Settings dashboard. Use /trello logout to disconnect any time.

Your password stays yours

Trello hands Team Toolbox a token you approve, so it never sees your Trello password.

Card & Board Previews

Once Trello is connected, sharing a card or board is as easy as pasting its link. Card links show the list, board, due date, members, and labels. Board links show the description and list count. Until you run /trello connect, links stay as plain links.

Create Cards

Capture work as a Trello card without leaving Discord.

  • From a command: run /trello card create, pick a board and list, then fill in the card's name, description, and an optional due date.
  • From a message: right-click any message and choose Create Trello Card. The card is pre-filled with the message text and a link back to it.
  • Due dates: the create form accepts a date like 2026-07-10 or shorthand like +3d.

Want a quick view of your workload? Run /trello cards to list the open cards assigned to you, sorted by due date.

Due-Date Reminders

Never let a card sneak up on you. Opt in and Team Toolbox DMs you before your assigned cards are due.

  • Opt in: run /trello reminders and turn them on.
  • When you'll hear about it: 24 hours and 1 hour before a card is due, plus one nudge if a card goes overdue.
  • Reschedule-aware: if a card's due date changes, its reminders re-arm for the new date.
Server Admins

Board Notifications

Follow a board and Team Toolbox posts its activity to the channel, so the team sees movement without watching Trello. Subscribing needs the Manage Channels permission.

  • Subscribe: run /trello subscribe in the channel that should receive updates, then pick a board.
  • What gets posted: cards created, moved between lists, commented on, assigned, checklist items completed, due-date changes, and archives.
  • Unsubscribe: run /trello unsubscribe to stop a board's updates in the channel.
/trello subscribeFollow a board's activity in this channel (Manage Channels).

Heads up

A subscription uses the connected account that set it up. If that person disconnects Trello, its updates pause. Anyone connected can restart them with /trello subscribe.
