A safe space is an anonymous private thread you open to raise a concern, ask for help, or give honest feedback, shared with the people who should see it and closed when you're done.

How It Works

A safe space is an anonymous two-way relay. When you open one, your messages go to a private forum thread that the responder role can see, and their replies come back to you as DMs. Your name is hidden from everyone, including admins, unless you choose to reveal it. Each thread carries a status tag so responders know where it stands: Awaiting Reply, Responded, or Resolved. If you go quiet after a reply, Team Toolbox sends a nudge and closes the space automatically after about a week of inactivity.

Open and Close a Safe Space

Run /safespace open and fill in the title and message to start an anonymous conversation. Your messages reach the responder role without your identity attached, and their replies arrive as DMs. Anonymity is strong, but specifics can still give you away, so skip details like exact roles or projects if you want to stay unidentifiable.

Your identity stays hidden by default. If you want the responders to know who you are, run /safespace share to reveal your name; it applies to the whole conversation from then on. When the conversation has run its course, run /safespace close to resolve and archive it. A space that goes quiet after a reply gets a nudge and closes on its own after about a week.

Set Up Safe Spaces

Run /safespace create <role> to create the private "safe-spaces" forum and give that role access to respond. You can also set it up from the Server Settings dashboard, where you pick the responder role. Once it's on, safe spaces look after themselves: threads stay anonymous, quiet threads get a nudge, and inactive ones close automatically after about a week.

/safespace create <role>Create the private safe-spaces forum and pick the responder role.
