Summarize a Channel

Every /summary command returns a private (ephemeral) recap only you can see, with a Share button if you want to post it to the channel. Each command takes an optional request focus prompt, like "just the decisions" or "action items only", to narrow what the recap covers. Whole-channel recaps read up to the last 500 messages.

/summary catchupSummarize everything since your last message in the channel.
/summary channelSummarize the whole channel, up to 500 messages.
/summary recentSummarize the last N messages you specify.
/summary datesSummarize between two natural-language dates you give.
/summary idsSummarize between two message IDs.
/summary pingsRound up messages where you were pinged, server-wide, since a time you set.
/summary recallRe-show the last summary you generated in this channel.

Summarize Around a Message

To pull the context around one message instead of the whole channel, right-click it and open the Apps menu for three actions: Summary Before recaps what led up to the message, Summary After recaps what followed it, and Summary Around covers both sides. Like the commands, these summaries are private with a Share button.

Scheduled Summaries

Run /summary schedule (requires Manage Server) to set a recurring summary for a channel: pick the channel, an interval in days (1 to 365), and an optional focus prompt. Team Toolbox then posts the recap on its own. Review, edit, and remove schedules from the Summaries panel on the Server Settings dashboard.
