Schedule a channel to receive a random tip embed on any cadence.

At a glance

Tips posts a random tip embed to a Discord channel at a regular cadence, from daily to any interval you set. Team Toolbox ships with tips for every feature it offers, and your server admin can add their own.

See Tips

There's nothing to run. Tips arrive on their own in the channels your server admin set up: a tip embed drops in on a schedule, thumbnailed with the icon of the feature it's about, with a friendly one-liner leading it in so you just read them as they land. Clicking a tip's author name opens that feature's docs if you want to learn more.

Schedule Tips

Every /tips command requires the Administrator permission. Run /tips schedule to set up a channel: pick the channel where tips post, the interval in hours between posts (1 to 720, defaulting to 168), an optional category, and an optional start time (e.g. "tomorrow at 9am") for the first tip -- leave it blank and the schedule starts right away. Leave the category blank to draw from all enabled categories, or pick one to keep that channel focused. Team Toolbox shows a preview before anything is saved. There's one schedule per channel, and running /tips schedule again on a channel that already has one edits its interval and category without resetting history.

/tips scheduleCreate or update a channel's schedule.
/tips status [channel]See a channel's schedule and pause, resume, or delete it.
/tips listList every active schedule, with channels, intervals, categories, and next post time.
/tips show [category]Post one tip right now, optionally filtered to a category.
/tips categoriesSee every category, whether it's on or off, and whether its feature is enabled.

Pausing keeps a schedule but stops posting until you resume, picking up where it left off. Deleting removes it entirely.

Tip Categories

Tips are grouped into categories, one built-in category for each Team Toolbox feature plus any custom ones you create. A posted tip is thumbnailed with its feature's icon so it's clear what it covers. Built-in tips exist for:

  • Keywords
  • Reminders
  • Safe Spaces
  • Summaries
  • Meetings
  • Google Workspace
  • Notion
  • Canva
  • Tools (general)

Run /tips categories to see every category and its current state. Toggling categories on or off, and adding your own custom categories, is done on your Server Settings dashboard. Custom categories stay on unless you disable them, since they aren't tied to any feature toggle. Each built-in category's tips point back to that feature's help command; a custom category can have its own optional "learn more" footer, set from the same dashboard.

Auto-off when a feature is disabled

If a feature is turned off for your server, its tips are automatically excluded from the pool. They come back the moment you re-enable the feature, no extra steps.

/tips categoriesSee every category, whether it's on or off, and whether its feature is enabled.

Custom Tips

Add your own tips (up to 500 characters each) from the Tips panel on your Server Settings dashboard, filed inside the category they belong to. Good for onboarding reminders, team norms, or server-specific shortcuts. You can disable a custom tip to keep it out of the pool without deleting it, or remove it entirely. Built-in tips are read-only, so turn the whole category off if you want to mute them.
