Shout Outs
Celebrate a teammate, a whole squad, or the person whose birthday it is.
Shout Outs turns a quick "nice work" into something the whole team sees. Write one up, check how it'll look, pick an icon, and send it to the channel your server admin chose. Set your birthday once and Team Toolbox handles the rest on the day.
Send a Shout Out
Run /shoutout create and fill in who it's for. Team Toolbox opens a short form for a title and a few words about what happened, then shows you the finished embed before anything goes out. It's the real thing, not an approximation, so what you see is exactly what lands in the channel.
From the preview you can send it, edit the wording, swap the icon, or back out entirely. Nothing is saved until you press Send. Once it's out, Team Toolbox adds the first two reactions itself, matched to the icon you picked, so nobody has to be first.
/shoutout createWrite and preview a shout out, then send it.Attach an image with the optional image field and it rides along under the text. PNG, JPG, GIF, and WebP all work, up to 8 MB.
One Person, Several, or a Whole Team
The to field takes whoever you want to celebrate. Mention one teammate, mention several, or just type a name like "The Design Team" when the group doesn't map neatly to Discord accounts. You can mix the two: @Ellie and the QA crew reads exactly how you'd say it out loud.
Anyone you actually mention gets pinged. Plain text never pings anyone, so naming a group is safe even if it sounds like a role.
Anonymous Shout Outs
Set anonymous to True and the embed reads "From Anonymous" instead of your name. Handy when you'd rather the recognition land on the person than on who noticed.
Server admins can see who sent every shout out, including the anonymous ones, from the Server Settings dashboard. It's there so the feature can't be used to needle someone from behind a curtain. Nobody else can see it.
Your Birthday
Run /shoutout birthday, pick a month and a day, and that's it. Team Toolbox never asks for the year, so your age isn't stored anywhere and can't be worked out from it.
Your birthday is the same everywhere Team Toolbox knows you, not per server, and you can also set it under General Settings on your User Settings page. Don't want it announced? Flip the toggle to keep it private and Team Toolbox keeps it to itself in every server.
/shoutout birthdaySet your birthday and choose whether it gets shouted out.On the day, Team Toolbox posts a cake in the birthday channel. The wording changes each time, so a team of thirty doesn't read the same line thirty times a year.
Born on 29 February? You get celebrated on the 28th in non-leap years, so it never gets skipped.
Set Up Shout Outs
Turn Shout Outs on from the Tools section of your Server Settings dashboard, then pick the channel shout outs post to. Nothing goes out until that channel is set, and /shoutout create tells people so rather than failing quietly. Team Toolbox checks it can actually post there when you save, so a permissions problem surfaces immediately instead of the first time someone tries.
Everything lives in one place on purpose: there's no setup command to drift out of step with the dashboard, and no half-configured state you can reach from Discord.
Birthdays
Birthdays are on as soon as Shout Outs is, but they can't post anywhere until you pick a birthday channel, so nobody gets surprised. It's deliberately separate from the main shout-out channel, since a lot of teams want cakes in #general and kudos somewhere quieter. Turn the whole thing off with the Birthdays switch and Team Toolbox ignores birthdays in this server, whatever individual members have set.
Pick a time of day and the dashboard converts it from your local clock to UTC for you, showing both so there's no guesswork. Everyone with a birthday that day is posted in one sweep, once, even if the bot restarts partway through.
Team Toolbox only celebrates people who've set a birthday and left shout outs switched on. There's no way for an admin to set someone else's birthday, and no list of who has one.
Recent Shout Outs
The Shout Outs panel in Server Settings keeps a searchable record of everything sent in your server: who it was for, who sent it, when, which channel, and a link straight to the message. Anonymous shout outs show an "Anonymous" badge next to the real sender's name, so you can act if someone abuses the feature without that name ever reaching the channel.
Search matches recipients, senders, wording, and raw user IDs, so you can paste an ID straight from Discord. Records are kept for 180 days and then age out on their own. Only server admins can open this list.
